"The marketing and distribution of the Road Runner brand to both channels was becoming more and more confusing for broker and customer alike. Motor Trade Solutions products will only be available through brokers - motor traders will not be able to buy those products direct."</p> <p>The new brand, to be promoted to brokers under the "Motor Trade Made Easy" banner, will provide an enhanced streamlined service, making the small motor trade insurance sector easier to write and to service. Fundamental developments include:</p> <ul> <li>The first "instant" telephone insurance quote service for motor trade business.</li> <li>An end to the need for insurance brokers to complete proposal forms: these will be laser printed from the Motor Trade Solutions system.</li> <li>Telephone quotes will be followed up with written quotes within 24 hours of quotation.</li> <li>Internet quote application through the dedicated broker-only website at <a href="http://www.motortradesolutions.co.uk">www.motortradesolutions.co.uk</a>.</li> <li>All calls to Motor Trade Solutions will be recorded and can be used for both staff training and for clarification of information given, protecting everyone and avoiding confusion.</li> </ul> <p>The company’s £150,000 investment in new IT and communications technology is intended to reduce significantly the workload for brokers and make it easy to write motor trade business.<br> <br> The motor trade sector - particularly the smaller end of the market - is growing steadily and is almost recession-proof. As the call for specialist repair and servicing of vehicles increases and the used car market extends, the sector’s insurance needs grow.
